Illustration stock

The illustration stock market is so over saturated with so many similar styles. So far, I tend to try to do my own thing, which is mostly fashion and beauty related images. The three sites which I contribute to are all different from one another. Dreamstime and Shutterstock are highly commercial, they have very specific guidelines and only accept artwork they feel have the highest commercial value, and Photospin has a more relaxed guideline as far as artwork, they accepted work of mine which got rejected by other sites. Interestingly though, the artwork that got rejected on other sites, they have gotten consistent downloads on Photospin, which shows that it's hard to know what the market wants, there are tons of greeting cards companies, stationary and gift companies that need images that are a bit different. There are also individuals who just want to buy images that are different, for private collection purposes. The point is to continue create images that excite you, instead of just creating images you think are popular and are what the market wants, since you could never know.
